When I was searching for camps for my nearly four year old last summer I really felt at a loss to find something age appropriate for him that took the fact that he was still a small man in a big big world into account! So many summer camps cater to parents looking to entertain their school going kids and the smallies who are yet to cross the school gates get a bit forgotten.
This year when I was browsing camp options for my son and his little sister I was delighted to come across this fantastic camp in Cork- and it’s just for preschoolers! This camp is proving very popular with parents of that age group and it’s no wonder… we also need a little (or a lot) of down time in the summer and some serious fun and learning for our kids!
Kinderama Camps are held all over Cork and are designed for children aged 5 and under. These unique, mini camps are in six child-friendly venues around Cork and parents like myself can rest assured that their kids will be happy campers given that Kinderama camps cater specifically to the pre-schooler age group.
You can choose between two or four days, and trust that your children are being cared for by two qualified, vetted, insured and First Aid trained teachers (who are also Mums that completely understand the value of a few hours peace!). They adhere to the same staff/child ratio as a Pre-School, so it isn’t too overwhelming for this younger age group.
Throughout the year this multi-activity programme offer their classes to Pre-Schools, Créches and Montessoris so they really specialise in this age group. Dance, sport, drama, yoga, mindfulness, gymnastics and music ranging from The Rolling Stones to Puccini and everything in-between! Each day is jam packed with fun & variety. Space adventures, Pirate Ships, Mermaids, Dragons, Circus, Insects and Masks.
Each Kinderama Camp is created for the younger childs’ attention span and energy levels and their programme encourages physical, emotional and social development. With beautiful handmade costumes, a piece of equipment for every child and a take-home activity sheet to encourage parent-child interaction, this is a lovely introduction to Summer Camps and your children are sure to make some magical memories.
